Leadership Development Rotational Program

ECI Development, Ltd.

Build Your Career with ECI

A 12-Month Rotational Program for Emerging Leaders

Program Overview

At ECI Development, we aim to attract the most promising talent—regardless of area of study—and empower them to grow into the future leaders they are destined to become. We believe that real leadership potential emerges when individuals are challenged, mentored, and given exposure to every facet of a business.

Our Leadership Development Rotational Program (LDRP) is a 12-month immersive experience built to prepare top-tier graduates for high-impact roles within ECI. Designed for self-starters, critical thinkers, and strategic minds, this program is a launchpad for long-term leadership careers at our company. Participants are given immediate access to senior executives, work across multiple departments, and are empowered to take real ownership of projects.

Now entering its third decade, the LDRP has a strong track record of developing entrepreneurial leaders within ECI. The program is competitive, hands-on, and deeply rooted in our “promote-from-within” culture. We’re looking for candidates who are motivated, collaborative, and ready to make a measurable impact.

Over the course of nine months, participants will rotate through key departments including Operations, Marketing, Sales, Finance, and Legal Administration. In the final three months, participants will design and lead a Capstone Project—a strategic initiative that identifies an opportunity for improvement within the company. Candidates will propose the project, present it to executive leadership, and be responsible for implementation and delivery.

At the conclusion of each departmental rotation, participants will be evaluated by senior leadership. These reviews provide structured feedback, coaching, and preparation for the Capstone phase. By the end of the program, participants will have developed a strong foundation in business operations, cross-functional collaboration, and strategic execution—positioning them for director-level roles and beyond.

A limited number of candidates are accepted into the program each year. Applicants must have graduated from an undergraduate program within 15 months of the application deadline. We welcome graduates from all disciplines and backgrounds.

How to Apply

To apply, please submit the following:

  • Your resume
  • 500–700 word personal statement explaining why you are a strong fit for the LDRP

Your personal statement will carry significantly more weight than your resume in our selection process. We encourage you to share what sets you apart, how you would excel in a rotational leadership program, and why you’re passionate about building a future at ECI Development.

Sample Program Schedule

Each Leadership Development Rotational Program (LDRP) participant follows a 12-month schedule divided into functional rotations across ECI Development’s core departments. While schedules are tailored to the month of hire, the typical format is outlined below. Program timing and location requirements are flexible, though participants are expected to spend approximately 75% of the year on-site at our resort locations in Gran Pacifica, Nicaragua or Ambergris Caye, Belize.

ECI Development provides round-trip airfare at the start of the program and return flights every three months for a two-week home visit. On-site housing is also included throughout the program. Participants receive a monthly stipend of $3,000 USD.

Months 1–3: Operations (Two 6-week rotations)

The program begins with immersive operational training at both of ECI’s primary resort hubs. Candidates will spend approximately six weeks at each location, gaining direct exposure to the day-to-day functions of the business. During this time, participants will interact regularly with team members at all levels, gaining foundational insight into ECI’s systems, infrastructure, and culture.

Months 4–5: Marketing (8 weeks)

Working closely with the Marketing team, participants will gain hands-on experience planning, executing, and analyzing campaigns. This rotation emphasizes the power of effective communication—both internal and external—and highlights how strategic messaging supports the company’s brand, sales performance, and investor engagement.

Months 6–7: Sales (8 weeks)

In this phase, candidates are embedded within the Sales team to gain a real-world understanding of lead management, client engagement, and revenue generation. Experiencing the sales process first-hand allows participants to hear customer concerns directly, giving them invaluable insight into product development and market alignment. Understanding how to sell—and what makes a product truly compelling—is a critical step toward long-term leadership.

Months 8–9: Legal & Administration (8 weeks)

This rotation provides a behind-the-scenes look at ECI’s legal framework and administrative operations. Participants will assist with key legal documents including purchase contracts, HOA agreements, and international deal structures. They’ll also observe how knowledge and process documentation evolve as ECI transitions from an entrepreneurial company to a scalable enterprise. Exposure to both Civil and Common Law systems in our jurisdictions provides important context for global business leaders.

Months 10–11: Finance (8 weeks)

Participants will work closely with the Finance team, analyzing data and evaluating the financial metrics that inform high-level corporate decisions. This rotation offers practical experience in forecasting, budgeting, and scenario planning. Working with senior executives, participants will learn how to interpret the numbers and use them to guide strategy, operations, and resource allocation.

Months 12: Capstone Project (Final 4 weeks)

The program concludes with a participant-led Capstone Project. After a feedback session with senior leadership, candidates will propose and implement a project that addresses a strategic opportunity or operational improvement within ECI Development. Participants are expected to present a timeline, manage execution, and deliver measurable outcomes by the end of the program. This phase is a demonstration of the leadership, initiative, and insight gained over the previous 11 months.

Successful completion of the LDRP may lead to a full-time offer with ECI Development. While post-program employment is not guaranteed, candidates are encouraged to engage in active dialogue with leadership throughout the year to explore long-term opportunities.
